Kolejna edycja Dni Kultury Krajów Anglojęzycznych za nami!

A w tym roku działo się naprawdę dużo! Nasz festiwal zaszczycili swoją obecnością wykładowcy Wydziały Humanistycznego US: dr Adriana Goldman US z wykładem zatytułowanym ‘A Millenium of English in its key texts - from Old English to Early Modern English’ oraz dr Krystian Grądz z wykładem zatytułowanym ‘Culture as Text’.

W programie znalazły się również kreatywne konkursy z motywem przewodnim ‘All the world is a word…’, quiz Wiedzy o Języku Angielskim, międzynarodowe lekcje języka angielskiego ‘Young Entrepreneurs’ oraz ‘The Cost of Higher Education’ w ramach projektu Pearson and BBC Live Classes, a także cały tydzień lekcji języka angielskiego ze slangiem, językiem potocznym i ciekawostkami lingwistycznymi w roli głównej!

Jak zawsze było edukacyjnie i na wesoło. Dziękujemy Wam drodzy uczniowie Pobożniaka za aktywny udział i chęć do wspólnej zabawy.

As all the world is a word,
not every word can be told.
There's not a term with enough greenery
to reminisce a flourishing meadow’s scenery.
No word could ever hide the meaning
of the joy you feel while to favourite song screaming.
Hot summer mornings with breakfast in bed;
moments like these I wish would never end.
But no matter how much I want to explain,
only by living you can these feelings gain.
There are also no words quite as blue
as the times you’re crying all day through:
restless nights with no one around,
trapped in your head not making a sound.
For the burdened, the downcast, the grief-stricken,
for the ecstatic, the jovial, the magnificent.
For them these terms will never be enough,
as the sphere of feelings is to name so rough.
And although words do make the world,
some of them will stay uncalled.

All the world is a word

All the world is a word.
A word of truth,
A word of love.
A word of joy,
A word of support.
A word to believe,
and one to forgive.
A word to cherish through life.
So little, yet so much.

How can we see,
without opening our eyes?
How can our heart skip a beat,
without image of what is truly dear?
How can we feel,
in stone cold dream?
How can we live,
feeling incomplete,
but stay in the world,
that never seems real?
How do we know, to be right or wrong?
How do we know, to have hope in hopeless world?
It is power, it is war, it is peace, it was owned.
All the world is, is a word.

Everything but perfect,
can still be called home.
How long do we need,
to get that WE belong?
A world full of wonders,
A world full of joy.
A world full of violence,
A world full of blood.
This is our chance.
This is our choice.
All we ought to do
is use our voice.

It’s the strength of love.
It’s a sword of hate.
Power of unknown,
can simply be a blindfold.
Shall we love with our hearts.
Shall we fight with our voice.
Make word that’s been used
heard loud and felt in bones.
Let’s not look back.
Let’s be fierce and strong.

A way which we should be,
honest and real.
A way to believe,
A way to see.
A way to feel,
A way to live.
One lock and one key,
One world one need.
Nothing should matter anymore,
Cause all the world needs
is a word.
